Five songs to get you through the rest of the week
by Chuck Taylor

Happy Wednesday, Visionary readers. Yes, it’s Wednesday, and what better way to get through the midweek slump than with a carefully curated playlist? Below are five songs—ranging from obscure to well-known, all extremely good—to help you over the hump.
“Frida’s Sonnet,” composed by Ayhan Sahin (vocal by Karine Hannah)

Formerly a civil engineer in his native Turkey, composer-producer Ayhan Sahin staged four full-length musicals there with an amateur theatrical group—includingSwedish Style, which grew out of Sahin’s admiration for pop supergroup ABBA. The production ultimately led to a meeting between Sahin and ABBA founders Benny Andersson and Bj√∂rn Ulvaeus. Today he has his own indie label in New York and is working with the likes of Olivia Newton-John, Phoebe Snow, Sandra Bernhard, and American Idol finalists.
